WALKER (FROM PURDEY'S) 12-BORE ROTARY-UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 720, circa 1870, serial number on barrel lump only, 26 1/4in. sleeved nitro barrels, the rib engraved with acanthus scroll detailing at the breech-end, rib address indistinct, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, Jones patent rotary-underlever, non-rebounding back-action locks with dolphin hammers, carved percussion fences, border and partial scroll engraving surrounding scenes of pheasant, bright finish overall, 14 1/4in. figured stock including steel heel and toe plates, stock inlaid with a large silver escutcheon engraved '3RD B.R.V. 1868. 4TH PRIZE.
